A Local Edinburgh Tour Guide
I Love Edinburgh Tours is a small family business. I’m Hazel and I’ll be your tour guide in Edinburgh, the city I was born and grew up in. My passions in life are travelling, family time and good quality food and drink.
In my opinion, Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the surrounding countryside and culture is just stunning.
So what better way to bring all my passions together than to take visitors on private tours of Edinburgh, and beyond, and show off not just the fantastic sights that the city itself has to offer, but to get out into the local countryside too.

Share My Love of Edinburgh and Scotland
I want to share my enthusiasm by taking you on a tour of Scotland to show you the hidden gems of the flora, fauna and history, combined with visits and tastings at the wonderful artisan food and drink producers. You’ll get an Edinburgh tour by a local, so you can see parts of the city and surrounding countryside that the big Edinburgh tour guides don’t take you.
Since our children were born, my husband and I have not let that curtail our passion for seeing the world, so we’ve travelled extensively with them from a very young age.
Some of our best family memories have been created on our trips abroad, however travelling with children is both very challenging and utterly rewarding in equal measures.
I have therefore taken that into consideration for I Love Edinburgh Tours to strike the balance to ensure that everyone from our very young to our older guests are catered for.
Through the years we’ve been on many tours whilst travelling and we’ve seen them all:-
The Good (in fact I’d say it was more like exceptional) – a private tour down the Great Ocean Road in Australia, where the guide was outstanding and had our children enthralled within the first 10 minutes
The Bad – the hop on, hop off bus tour in Barcelona, where we all ended up with sun stroke sitting on the open top bus for an eternity whilst passengers got on and off
The Ugly – that would have to be the time in Malaysia where the guide didn’t return to collect us from a busy tourist attraction. Finally after an hour of searching through hundreds of identical yellow buses, we eventually found him……fast asleep!
I’ve learned from all these experiences and incorporated all the good bits into I Love Edinburgh Tours to ensure that your holiday will make lifelong family memories.
What our guests have to say about I Love Edinburgh Tours…….
We had a wonderful time with Hazel! She created a custom Edinburgh tour for us around our interests and what we wanted to see. She did extra research for us, making our time so informative and interesting.

Hazel provided an excellent tour, knew all the information and was friendly and pleasant throughout. I can’t imagine a more pleasant and relaxing way to learn about Scotland’s history and visit the key sights. I could not recommend her more strongly.
What can I say, Hazel was fantastic!! We started chatting several months before our family made the trip to Scotland from South Africa, and Hazel kindly advised and helped craft the perfect day out for our family with 3 teenage boys! We saw castles, bridges, forts, monuments, engineering wonders, Kelpies, battlegrounds and even took part in an interactive battle at Bannockburn. Hazel just put so much thought into the day and we never felt pressured to hurry. I loved the personal aspect of this tour and felt totally relaxed!

This was a great tour to St. Andrews and surrounding villages. We were a group of 7, and we all had a good time with Hazel. She is knowledgeable and well organized. She got to pick us up on time and share with us interesting information about the culture and history behind the different places we visited. She was also able to book one of our friends to play golf, on a short notice, at a very nice golf course. I definitively recommend taking a tour and she is also a very good driver.
